SIM Technology Group (SIM Technology; SEHK stock code: 2000), a leading mobile handset and wireless communications module designer and developer based in Hong Kong, today announced the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary entitled Shanghai SPEEDCOM Communications Technology Co., Ltd. (SPEEDCOM) and appointment of Mr. Fan Li-ming, Vice President of the Group for product design and development, as the General Manager of the new venture.
Sharing the same core business as Shanghai Simcom (Simcom), a wholly owned subsidiary under the Group, SPEEDCOM is dedicated to the research and development of mobile handsets solutions. The company will endeavor to meet with the rapid development of the Group’s operations and to sustain the high efficiency and productivity in R&D for which the Group is renowned.
Mr. Fan brings to SPEEDCOM 15 years of management experience in the development and manufacturing of mobile handsets. He has worked in senior positions in several well-known mobile handset companies including Eastcom (Putian Eastern Communications Group Co., Ltd), Motorola (Hangzhou Motorola Cellular Equipment Co., Ltd.) and CECW (CEC Wireless R&D Ltd.) prior to joining the Group in May 2004. Mr Fan obtained his Master’s degree in engineering from Xian Jiao Tong University in 1990.
