Recently, Shanghai Sunrise Simcom Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Sunrise”), a subsidiary of the Group, successfully passed the comprehensive performance evaluation by the Industry Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT) for its national key research and development program “Smart City Internet of Things Ubiquitous Access Gateway and Platform Application Demonstration” project. The project has successfully passed the comprehensive performance evaluation by the Center for Industry Promotion of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT), marking the significant achievements and important breakthroughs in the field of intelligent Internet of Things (IoT) technology application.

In the process of project implementation, for the needs of complex scenarios in megacities, this project lasted for four years and was undertaken by Shanghai Sunrise Simcom Limited together with ten organizations, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai Institute of Microsystems and Information Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tongji University, Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute (Group) Limited, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and so on. The successful completion of the project not only provides valuable experience for the construction and development of smart cities, but also injects new vitality into the process of national urban intelligence and sustainable development.

Focusing on low-power access and resource scheduling technologies, the team developed an all-network access gateway that integrates a low-power SoC chip and supports multiple communication modes; developed three kinds of automated production test devices suitable for flexible manufacturing, and created an IoT access platform that serves the management of smart cities; and formulated a unified identification standard for the gateway infrastructure to provide standardization support for smart cities. The project has implemented 20 demonstration applications in a number of key areas, such as municipal, urban management and transportation, in the cities of Shanghai and Wuhan, proving the practicality and wide applicability of the technology.

Shanghai Sunrise Simcom Limited is responsible for topic three, which is closely related to the demand for flexible manufacturing of smart city gateways, and has successfully developed and constructed a flexible manufacturing process device, which realizes rapid line change and low-cost customization of gateways. The Tongcheng factory of the Group is equipped with automated SMT production lines and PCBA test lines for mass production of modular assembled gateways, providing strong support for the modular management of flexible manufacturing of gateways.
